A 30-year-old man, identified as Ndubuisi Kalu, slumped and died after he was allegedly pushed by his wife in Aba, Abia State.
The couple, who lived at Pepple Street, reportedly quarreled frequently over his drinking habit. As the deceased came back again drunk, his wife, Immaculeta, was said to have pushed down.
He fell and died before he could receive medical attention.
A resident in the area said:
Spokesman of Abia State Police Command, DSP Ezekiel Onyeke, who confirmed the incident, said Ogbor Hill Police Division had commenced investigation into the incident. He said police were also investigating their landlady and two eyewitnesses, adding “late Kalu has epilepsy and there are other things that we need to find out.

“The man was formerly employed, but was laid off by his employer and had since remained unemployed. “On that day, the man went out to drink as usual and came back drunk. The wife, who was not happy with his drinking habit, started rebuking him and that angered the man. “While they were arguing, the wife pushed him and he slumped and died.”

“We learned that the landlady gave them three hours to vacate her house, which she effected on the day of the incident.
